Providing small business loans, savings, insurance and training to over two million people working their way out of poverty in the developing world is no small task. But when Opportunity International came to Manifest and asked us to help, we jumped at the chance.
Opportunity International had already succeeded at establishing a thriving mission-driven organization for over 80 years. Then came the internet… and new opportunities to make an even bigger difference.
The challenge was to connect well-intentioned donors with under-privileged entrepreneurs. Having achieved a loan repayment rate of 98% (an unheard of performance in any developed country), Opportunity International wanted to extend this profoundly effective model in new ways.
We found the answer in our own core tenets: let the human experience guide you first… digital answers will follow.
With that insight, we co-produced OptInNow, a consumer brand designed to bridge the gap from large endowment donors to smaller donors. Then we created an online platform that does exactly that.
Integrated marketing campaigns (which we produced) and street marketing initiatives (also our doing) launched the brand to great success.
And more importantly, to the benefit of the deserving people that need our help.
To tell the story of microfinance, we created content that focused on the very human benefits of giving and utilized a variety of storytelling techniques.
We produced interactive microsite-style banners that connect users directly into the story and transaction that is most rewarding for them.
We concepted, managed, and in many cases executed street campaigns that quickly went viral. In this case we handed out fruit to commuters in various cities.
